A round of HuntingX is a real-time manhunt: one player hides, everyone else hunts via a live map. Pings, tactical special events and a proof photo decide victory and defeat.
Three parties — each with its own task.
Hides in the city and tries to escape unnoticed. Sends his location regularly as a ping. Uses his own special actions (fake ping, clear pings, hunter radar).
Hunt Mr. X via the live map. But only see the pings — not the live position. Use tactical special events and catch Mr. X with a proof photo.
Creates the round, invites players and sets the rules. Can play along inactive (game master mode) or actively as a hunter.
From the lobby to the grand finale.
The game master creates a round, shares the invite code and configures ping interval, duration, zone and enabled events. Players join.
As soon as everyone is ready, one (or more) players are randomly and secretly chosen as Mr. X. Each Mr. X confirms their role with a thumbprint before it starts.
Mr. X starts in the play area. At regular intervals (e.g. every 3 minutes) he automatically sends a ping with his location to the shared live map.
Hunters use special events, Mr. X defends with his own actions. Strategy is discussed in chat — beware of fake messages!
A hunter approaches Mr. X and submits a proof photo (selfie). The game master confirms — hunt won. Mr. X either escapes when time runs out, or by reaching a defined target zone.
Mr. X automatically sends a ping at regular intervals (default: 3 minutes). The ping history is drawn as a line on the map, old pings remain visible.
The round has a set duration (default: 45 minutes). When time runs out, Mr. X wins. The timer runs along the top status bar.
Optionally the game master can define a play area Mr. X must stay in. If he leaves it, his live location becomes visible to all hunters.
By default, hunters see the other hunters' live positions. Mr. X only sees them in extreme mode or during a hunter radar.
Hunters trigger events with their own cooldown. Each hunter can take only one event type per round — in extreme mode, cooldowns are halved.
Makes Mr. X's screen flash.
Strength: MediumPlays an alarm sound on Mr. X's phone.
Strength: LowSends 10 seconds of radar pulse waves around you. If Mr. X is nearby, his location is revealed for 10 seconds.
Strength: Very highImmediately sets the time until the next ping to 30 seconds. Afterwards the regular ping timer continues.
Strength: MediumMr. X must post a photo of his surroundings and is fully locked until he does.
Strength: HighForces an extra ping from Mr. X immediately.
Strength: HighMr. X must stand still for 30 seconds.
Strength: Very highMr. X has his own tricks to outwit the hunters.
Clears all pings from the hunters' map. Cooldown-based.
Cooldown: 10min (Extreme 5min)Place a fake ping anywhere on the map once per round.
1x per roundSend a confusing message under a random hunter's name in the hunter chat.
Cooldown: 5min (Extreme 2min 30s)See all hunters' live locations on the map for 15 seconds.
Cooldown: 10min (Extreme 5min)A hunter approaches Mr. X and submits a proof selfie via "Mr. X found". The game master checks the photo and confirms the catch. This makes all hunters win the round.
Standard mode: the round clock runs out without Mr. X being caught. As soon as the timer hits zero, Mr. X wins — regardless of how many pings the hunters saw.
Alternatively the game master can set a target zone as the win condition: Mr. X then wins instantly when he enters this zone on the map — hunters must catch him with a proof photo first. The zone is set on the map when creating the round, with a radius.
For experienced groups: in extreme mode all special event cooldowns are halved and Mr. X sees all hunters' live positions every minute. A more intense, faster hunting experience.
The game master (the person who starts the round) needs 1 token to start the round — and only them. All other players (incl. Mr. X) can join and play completely free, with no balance required. Tokens can be bought in the token shop or redeemed via free codes.
